Tartu Vocational Education Centre is a regional vocational educational institution that provides pre-service and in-service education and training both for adolescents as well as adults. Tartu Vocational Education Centre is a municipal vocational school. At the same time it is the biggest vocational education centre in Estonia.

Tartu Vocational Education Centre was founded on Sept. 1, 2002 as a result of a merger of 4 institutions: Tartu Construction and Light Industry School, Tartu Industrial School, Tartu Service School and Tartu Study Centre. The history of vocational education dates back to 1922 when Tartu Wood- and Ironwork School was founded. In 1944, the school was divided into 2 separate schools with 2 locations: one in Põllu Street, the other in Vanemuise Street. Tartu Study Centre was founded in the '70s and the newest of the 4, Tartu Service School, in 1984. Every school had its established fields of activity and specialities and, in general, Tartu Vocational Education Centre continues in the same fields.
